Omnicam
Privacy Policy
Last updated 17 October 2026
Omnicam is built so that we never need to see your footage. This policy explains what stays with you, the little we do handle, and your choices.
Your video stays yours
- Video is recorded by the Omnicam hub on hardware you own, and saved to storage you choose: your Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, S3-compatible bucket, NAS or a local disk.
- Cloud uploads are encrypted end to end with AES-256-GCM before they leave your home. Your storage provider only receives encrypted data, and only your recovery key can decrypt it.
- Live view and playback go from your hub to your devices. Omnicam does not route, store or analyse your video on its servers.
- Detection and AI search run on your own hub.
What we do process
- Website waitlist and contact: your email address and, if you provide them, the plan and camera brands you are interested in, plus basic technical data (country derived from your connection, browser type, referring page). We use this to send your invite and product updates.
- Purchases: our payment partner (merchant of record), Apple or Google process your payment details. We receive your email, plan, licence status and country, never your full card number.
- Notifications: to deliver alerts to your phone or watch, alert text (for example “Person at Front door”) passes through Apple Push Notification service, Firebase Cloud Messaging or Expo’s push service. Notifications do not contain images; the app fetches snapshots directly from your hub.
- Cloud sign-in: when you connect Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive, the access tokens are stored encrypted on your hub, not on our servers. Google Drive access is limited to files Omnicam creates.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell your data or use it for advertising.
- We don’t identify people by face or build profiles of the people your cameras see.
- We don’t access your cameras or footage, and we can’t: they’re protected by your credentials and your keys.
Retention and your rights
Footage retention is controlled by you in the app (by default, continuous recordings 7 days, events 30 days, starred clips until you delete them). We keep waitlist and account data while you have an account or until you ask us to delete it. You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, or unsubscribe from emails at any time, by contacting support@omnicam.app. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or India’s DPDP Act), you may also complain to your data protection authority.
Recording others
If your cameras capture other people, you are responsible for complying with local privacy and consent laws, as described in our Terms.
Changes
We will post updates here and notify you of material changes.
